New York: Servers, personal computers and monitors accounted for more
that 60 per cent of global ICT-related carbon emissions and world
average electricity prices had grown by 56 per cent since 2002.


After Vista, a deluge of E-waste to developing countries, Greenpeace warns

The environmentalists argue that with Vista, more companies and individuals may feel the need to replace their existing computers sooner as these become incompatible with the new operating system. The result: massive volumes of computer scrap in dirty recycling yards and dumpsites in the Philippines, Thailand, and in other Asian countries where most of the world's E-waste dumps are located.
