Structure: Za Zemiata has a flat structure. The decision-making power is situated in the Council which consists of six members. They are chosen at the General meeting of the organisation and have a mandate for 2 years. Each of the council members could be re-elected only once. In all the formal papers For the Earth is represented by the signatures of always two of them.

Objectives:  - To offer alternative models for solving environmental and social problems which the country is facing at the moment. In all our projects and activities we want not only to oppose and criticise but also to develop and to offer a positive way out of a problem, a sustainable alternative.
- To be actively involved in the public participation procedure and to inform the public about the environmental situation. To mobilise the public in case it’s needed and to support the most effected by the country’s environmental and social crises groups in the society. 

- To build an efficient network between Bulgarian and international non-governmental groups for carrying out common activities. To link our activities to international projects/campaigns.
Projects: - Sustainable Energy Campaign
- Organising a public hearing in 1996 about the possibilities for sustainable energy development in Bulgaria, with representatives of the mass media, scientists, energy experts, NGOs and general public. The speeches and conclusions of the discussion were published in a special booklet.

- National co-ordination and contribution to the finger-book "Chernobyl + 10." Covering the problems of the high risk reactors in the CEE/CIS countries.

- Production and distribution of the video-film “Energy for Survival” - a documentary film about the sustainable energy policy and potential in the country.

- Participating in the CEE Bankwatch regional energy research “Time for change”, which analyses the environmental and social consequences of all energy projects financed by Multilateral Development Banks in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. 

- Organising a public discussion in the end of 1997 on the problems of the radioactive waste in Bulgaria produced by Kozloduy NPP. Preparing a booklet with all the reports and opinions presented at the discussion.
